When did you discover your calling? 

As long ago as I can remember, my biggest desire was to change the world. Being just one person, I can make a difference, but being a part of something as amazing as The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence opens up an entirely new opportunity for me to help make this world a better place.

Goals and Aspirations?

For years, my friends called me “SuperLiz” because I was always trying to fix everything and help everyone… regardless of what the problem or need was. In recent years, however, I have realized that, as much as I would like to, I cannot actually save the world. I can lead the way and inspire change though. So I traded in my cape for a veil. I look forward to continuing the amazing work that has been carried out by my fellow Sisters for the last 34 years and I hope to be a driving force within my abbey.

Inspirations:

So many. First and foremost though, I would say my son. Looking around at the world he is growing up in and seeing all the injustice, intolerance and ignorance makes me work even harder to make it a better place – not only for him, but for everyone.

Secondly, I would say my fellow Sisters, Brothers and Guards. I see all the good they do in our community. I see their dedication to our ministry and to one another and I am so proud to call them my family. I can only hope that I will one day make them as proud of me as I am of them.
